   1. Louisiana Revised Statutes: Most Notary statutes are in the Louisiana Revised Statutes (RS), Title 35, “Notaries Public and Commissioners.”

   2. Citations: Citations to the RS in this chapter follow this convention: RS, title followed by a colon,

   subsection

   1. section followed by a period, and any subsection, paragraph, or subparagraph within the section followed by a period and/or brackets. Example: RS 35:191.C[1][b][i].

2. Rules

   1. Louisiana Administrative Code: Rules regulating Notaries are found in the Louisiana Administrative Code (LAC), Title 46, Part XLVI, Chapter 1, “Notaries Public.”

   2. Citations to the LAC in this chapter follow this convention: LAC, title followed by a colon, part followed by a period, section followed by a period, and any subsection, and any subsection or paragraph within the section followed by a period and/or brackets. Example: LAC 46:XLVI.101.A.
